In order to obtain a Residence Permit, an expat must be prepared to undergo a tuberculosis examination and, if necessary, treatment for tuberculosis. If the expat completes the Declaration of
Intent for a Tuberculosis Examination and submits it to the Dutch immigration office (IND) together with the application (and if the transferee meets all the conditions), the IND will grant the Residence Permit as soon as possible.
The expat will be granted the permit on the specific condition that (s)he actually undergoes a
tuberculosis examination within 3 months of registration. Failure on the expats part – despite him / her signing the Declaration of Intent – to undergo a tuberculosis examination within the 3 months’ period following the issuance of a Residence Permit may result in cancellation of the granted permit.
The examination requirement does not apply for everyone. For more information, please do not hesitate to contact us.
