What will happen if agreement is reached on withdrawal (DEAL)?
The Withdrawal Agreement establishes the terms of the UK’s withdrawal from the EU. It ensures that the withdrawal will happen in an orderly manner, and offers legal certainty once the Treaties and EU law will stop to apply to the UK. During this period it allows businesses and others to prepare for the moment when the new rules between the UK and the EU begin. It would also allow more time for the details of the new relationship to be worked out. However, the real consequences will be known when the withdrawal deal is approved.
