St Maarten is celebrated in the Netherlands on 11 November. St Maarten is a holiday in honor of Saint Martin of Tours. Children have homemade lanterns and are walking on the streets from house to house, singing songs in order to collect candy. Therefore, it is clever to have some candy in-house for the children.
