Next week on Thursday, the 27th of April, the Netherlands will be celebrating Kingsday, which is the birthday of King Willem Alexander. This is an official public holiday. Kingsday is a nationwide celebration where people dress up in orange and participate in street markets, concerts, and other special events. It’s considered the biggest street party of the year, and it’s an experience you won’t want to miss! The royal family also participates each year, visiting different cities throughout the Netherlands to enjoy the festivities. This year, they will be visiting Tilburg, which you can watch live on television or attend in person.
It’s important to note that most people celebrate Kingsday in big cities, which can become very crowded. Therefore, it’s a good idea to check your transportation options in advance to avoid any issues with getting to and from the celebration.
