Easter is always celebrated on a Sunday. This year it will be celebrated on Sunday the 9th and Monday the 10th of April. Easter day is a family oriented day, as most Dutch families celebrate it by preparing a full breakfast or brunch. Foods during this festivity include: painted eggs, paasstol (a rich loaf of bread filled with raisins, nuts and marzipan), bread, croissants, cheese, meat and many more. When you have small children, they may search for painted and/or chocolate eggs that are delivered by the Easter bunny.
